He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony J. Koenig and Rosella Koenig; and his sisters, Jeanette Koenig, Gladys Enderle and Dorothy Glueck.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia L. Koenig; his children, Robert Koenig, A. J. Koenig (Lori), James Koenig (Jean) and Mary R Orth (James); and his siblings, Eugene Koenig, Elmer Koenig (Ida) and Bernice Debrock.

Memorials may be made in Emmett's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
