He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred W. Holstein and Theresa Smith Holstein Pfeiffer. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Jean Holstein; his children, Cheryl Ann Smith of Saint Charles and Stephen Mark Holstein of Champaign; his grandchildren, Andrew and Megan Smith; his brother Don Holstein of Affton; and his half-sister Kim Smouse of Houston.
