He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Mary Chris Hager; his parents, James Joseph Hager Sr. and Mary Rudolph Hager of Virginia; his sisters, Jeanne Marie Berry and Mary Elizabeth Barber; his cousins, Connor, Healey, Rudolph, Gray and Gaul; Cynthia Quinones.

Memorial contributions may be made in James' honor to the American Cancer Society.
