She was predeceased by: her husband Darrell Smith Howell; her parents, Avon Phipps and Lou Emma Phipps; and her brother Paul Phipps. She is survived by: her son Steven Howell (Cathy); her grandchildren, Michael Howell, Andrew Howell and Emily Howell; her sisters, Janice Anderson (Marshall) and Phyllis Pruett; Gail Belcher.

Memorials may be made in Mildred's name to American Cancer Society.
