He is survived by: his former wives, Evelyn Plate and Judy Plate; and his children, Rick Plate (Linda), Valerie Coates (John), Sharon Wengert (Kerry), Sheryl Cheek (Ron), Mike Plate (Molly), Margo Samnee (Rick), Bill Plate and Bob Plate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's name to the American Cancer Society or Kidney Foundation.
