He was predeceased by: his former wives, Emma Joan Cotter (Bolin) and Mary Cotter (Reed); his parents, Homer Glen Cotter and Margaret Susan Cotter (Collins); his grandparents, George Washington Cotter, Zora Viola Cotter (Johnson), Joseph William Collins and Letha Orleana Collins (Mitchell); and his siblings, James Elmer Cotter and Betty June Luna (Cotter).
He is survived by: his children, Michael D. Cotter, Paul Douglas Cotter, Brent Allen Cotter (Sandy), Ellen Maxheimer (Cotter) and Sarah Martin (Cotter); and his sister Shirley A. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
