He is survived by: his wife Mata Calkins; his son Richard Calkins; his grandchildren, Richard Calkins (Linsey) and Lauren Sanders (Stephen); his great grandchildren, Colton, Donald and Thomas; his nieces, Barbara Brooks and Brenda Richardson; and his cousin Jerry Reeves.
