He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn "Truck" Derrick; and his parents, James Derrick and Elmeda Arterberry. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie (Liam Derrick), Shawn Derrick, Crystal (Greg Bowers) and Amanda Derrick; his grandchildren, Cody and Chrissy Maggard; and his siblings, Jimmy (Donna), Ronnie (Denise), Ollie (Mary Jo), Don (Georgia), Richard (Wanda Derrick), Elmeda (Oscar Vallejo) and Nancy (Saul Martinez). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
