She was predeceased by : her grandparents, Patsy Joy and W. C. Scarlett; her uncle Charles Pirtle; and her cousin Evan Pirtle. She is survived by : her parents, Denise Scarlett (Pirtle) and David Scarlett; her grandmother Pat Pirtle; her children, Emma, Benjamin and Cora; her siblings, Tricia Martin, Jacob Scarlett and David Scarlett, Jr. (Renee); her grandfather Elbert Pirtle; her aunts and uncles, Ross Pirtle (Barb) of Commack, NY, Scott Pirtle (Christine) of Weston, MO, Wilton C. Scarlett of Chapel Hill, TN, Robert Scarlett (Laura) of Longview, TX, Peggy Harder (Cliff) of Longview, TX, Sharon Cleary (James) of Chapel Hill, TN and Diane Huffman of Kilgore, TX.; and her child Cheyenne Martin.

In lieu of flowers, the Pirtle and Scarlett families are establishing a Children's Trust to support Catherine's three children.
