He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Matthew and Barbara Lee Helgren (Caffee); his stepfather Melvin Palmer; and his sisters, Cheryl Palmer-Capriotti and Dawn Roxanne Helgren-Oliver.
He is survived by: his former wives, Debra Ann Lambert and Tina Rae Lewis; his children, Justin Helgren (Nakia) of Pleasant Hill, Adam Helgren (Amber) of Pleasant Hill, William Travis Helgren (Melinda) of Chesapeake, Virginia and Stacy Dawn Helgren of Elizabeth City; his grandchildren, Justin Helgren (Andrea) of Pleasant Hill, Vivica Helgren of Pleasant Hill, Esabel Helgren of Pleasant Hill, Kaia Helgren of Chesapeake, Vada Helgren of Chesapeake, Heidi Helgren of Chesapeake and Calista Helgren of Elizabeth City; his great grandchild Keenan Helgren of Pleasant Hill; and his siblings, Bradley Palmer of Norfolk, Lorie Ferguson (Greg) of Bryan Texas and Brandi Robertson (J. R.) of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
