She was predeceased by : her parents, Harley Means and Auburn Means (Watson); her brothers, Bud Means and John Means; her son Jay Gardner; her daughter-in-law Kathleen Gardner; her sister-in-law Nancy Means; her niece Melanie Means; her grandchildren, Jim Gillis, Jesse Gillis, Morgan Gardner and Mallory Gardner; and her nephew Paul Means.

She is survived by : her husband George; her children, Jerry Gardner (Marilyn), Chick Culton (Ashley), Mark Culton (Pat), Pat Gardner (Darice), Karen Reece (Keith), Terry Groom (Butch), Ladonna Kersten (Don) and Amy Carr (Keith); and her grandchildren, Shannon Gardner and Sarah Readyhough. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; other extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Knoxville Community Church, Liberty Hospital Hospice or Wayside Waifs in loving memory of Donna Sue Winders in care of the funeral home.
