He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Childs and Anna Mae Childs (Sykes); his wife Betty Garner; and his siblings, Paulette Childs Garner, Edward Hatchett and Joseph Dancy.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Manning, Anquanette Garner, Shalla Garner, LaQuisha Winston, Dominique Garner and Destiny Garner; his grandchildren, Betty Evans, Crystal Chaney, Lannique Chaney, Lamm Manning, Maryn Goudy, Joshlyn Gainwell and Joshua Forbes; and his siblings, Delorise Johnson (John), Sherman Dancy, Leonard Dancy, Linda Dancy, Brenda Clegg (Ron) and Fannie Pulliam. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
