He was predeceased by: his son Richard Elder; and his siblings, Bonnie Jones, Gene Elder and Bill Elder. He is survived by: his children, Janet Croy of Poplar Bluff and Hanford Elder Jr. of Doniphan; his sister Judy Kennedy of Spokane; and his close friends, Donna Chambers and Mary Stonecipher. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
