He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Bayless; and his brother Mackey Bayless. He is survived by: his former wife Shirley Louise Hertel; his children, Jennie, David J. Bayless (Sally) of Athens and Jennifer L. Bayless of Rolla; and his grandchildren, Michael H. Bayless of Seattle and Laurel H. Bayless of Athens. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jerry R. Bayless Fellowship or Scholarship at Missouri S&T.
