He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy V. Sauer; his parents, Ferdinand Sauer and Rose Sauer (Leible); and his siblings, Leola Hotop, Eleanora Guth, Virginia Sauer, Urban and Lonnie.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Ronald F. Sauer, Jr. (Karen), Derek J. Sauer (Stephanie), Matthew T. Sauer (Elizabeth), Kyle J. Matthis, Casey D. Matthis, Douglas A. Sauer, Jr. (Katie), Andrea J. Richey (Timmy II), Rebecca F. Johnston (Billy), Randall J. Rosner (Ashley), Daniel C. Rosner (Lydia), Grace M. Garrett, Carmen Shaw (Stephen), Katherine Cook and Tacomi Linton (Tony); and his siblings, Rosemary Dudley and Ferd Sauer Jr..
