He was predeceased by: his former wife Doris Mayers; and his siblings, Gloria Forte and Rich Mayers. He is survived by: his parents, John C. Mayers and Bernice E. Mayers; his spouse Jean Mayers; his children, Donna Bell, Jackie Tate (Jerry) and Kim Baker (Jeff); his stepchildren, Michael Jenkins (Jody) and Ronald Jenkins; and his sibling Jack Mayers (Gene). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in George's name to Gideon's Memorial Bible Fund.
