He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Barbara Ann Terrell; his children, Alan Jr (Laura) and Robert Terrell Jr. (Sally); his grandchildren, Jessica, Adam, Sarah, Brenden and Benjamin; his great grandchildren, Ana, Alexis, Paige and Hayden; and his siblings, Sue Terrell, Kenneth, Edgar, Juanita McDaniel, Anna Ruth Holbrook, Glenn, William, Donald, Marvin and Infant.
