He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara Ann Hieger; his parents, Jack Hieger and Sylvia Hieger; his sons, Donald John Hieger, Jr., Benedict Hieger (Briana Nix) and Patrick Hieger (Doris); his grandchildren, Samantha, Beau, Oliver, Jack and Penny; his godchildren, Jill Maher and Ryan Duncan; his siblings, Robert Hieger (Pam), Mark Hieger (Jo) and Jeanne Duncan (Dennis); and his nieces and nephews, Tom Canavan, Tom Wood, Gene Grassmuck and Benny Shields.
