He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Renken and Edna Renken. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Gaylene Renken; his sons, Mark Renken (Lori), Bob Renken (Kerri), Scott Renken (Amy) and Tom Renken (Melanie); his grandchildren, Jonathan Renken (Kara), Kyle Renken (Amber), Molly Renken, Haley Renken, Emily Renken, Cole Renken, Lexi Renken and Charlie Renken; and his great grandchildren, Beckett, Blakely, Everly, Lucy, Makenna and Maisy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Earl's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church – St. Charles.
