He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara June Hawks; and his parents, Roy Hawks and Myrtle Hawks. He is survived by: his children, Kristy Maria Hoffschwelle (Mark) and Kelly Melia Harte (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Drew William Hoffschwelle and Bennett Wayne Hoffschwelle.
