He was predeceased by: his spouse Margaret "Peggy" Sevy; and his brother Perry D. Black. He is survived by: his son Michael R. Black, Jr. (Melissa); his grandchildren, Spencer Black, Brianna Black and Duncan Black; his children, Rebecca E. Wittmeyer (Black), Matthew Langston, Nathanial Langston and Sarah Wittmeyer; and his sister-in-law Judy Black.
