He was predeceased by: his parents, Olivia Fortune and James Fortune; his daughters, Tammy and Shelly Fortune; his grandson Brian Payton; and his siblings, Phil, James "Buddy" Fortune and Nancy Mounts.

He is survived by: his wife Georgina Fortune; his children, Jeff Fortune (Dyann), Jill Thompson, Tiffany Fortune, Louis Payton (Mandy) and Darin Payton; and his grandchildren, Natasha Fostek, Ashlee Bradshaw, Shelby Huntress, Amanda Payton, Skylar Payton, Camryn Taxted, Brett Payton and Colby Taxted.
