He was loved and cherished by many people including : his mother Annie Mae Toler; his children, Reggie and Henry; his wife Louise Adkins; his brother Arthur Laws; his children, Melba Hale and Reginald Adkins; his daughter-in-law Ruby Adkins; his grandchildren, Megan Giampapa (Hale), Lauren Hale, Lawrence Hale, Reginald J Adkins and Devin Adkins; his great grandchildren, Sakura, Kai, Henry and Luca; and his brother Roy Toler. He was also cherished by numerous other family members, church associates and friends.
