It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lou Newell of Saint Louis, Missouri, born in Literberry, Illinois, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Liter and Jean Helen Petefish (Caldwell); and her siblings, Ward, Richard Petefish, Sarah Allen and Lois Yancy.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen Newell (Leah) of Springfield, IL, Janet Thomas (Dennis) of Fults, IL, Margaret McLaughlin (Dave) of Wickenburg, AZ and Kathleen Angle (Don) of Shreveport, LA; and her grandchildren, Liz Newell (Chris Malerich) of Spokane, WA, Andy Newell (Kat) of Fremont, CA, John Thomas (Jenna) of St. Charles, IL, Jathan McLaughlin (Chelsea) of Phoenix, AZ, Patrick McLaughlin (Noelle) of Colorado Springs, CO, Rob McLaughlin (Amanda) of Chicago, IL, Matt Angle (Katie) of Jackson Hole, WY, Laura Angle of Madison, WI and Greg Angle (Nicole) of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
