She was loved and cherished by many people including : her children, Rick Ackerman (Dale), Kit Ackerman and Andy Ackerman (Judy); her grandchildren, Adam Ackerman (Christina) and Justin Ackerman; and her great grandchild Horatio Ackerman.

In lieu of flowers, she would have appreciated donations to the APA of Missouri or the St. Louis Zoo.
