He was predeceased by: his wife Julia Maxine Wright; his son-in-law Dennis Carter; his grandson Dennis Carter Jr.; and his brothers, Marvin Lamoin Dickey, William Harl Dickey, George Adell Dickey, Charles Hays Dickey and Herman Lindbergh Dickey.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie Carter and Michael Boenker; his grandchildren, Stephanie Cox (Joe Mullen), Justin Carter (Brandy) and Ashley Carter; his great grandchildren, Kyleigh Nelson (Sam), Madison Ambrosecchia (Hadyn Gibbs), Jillian Carter, Dixie Nepture, Averie Taylor, Anthony Abdallah and Karter Gerardy; and his great great grandchildren, Gannon Evans, Olivia Nelson, Miles Nelson and Sylas Nelson.
