He was predeceased by : his former life partner LaFaye Newsom; and his parents, Estel Newsom and Ina Mae Newsom. He is survived by : his wife Joan Newsom; his children, Glenn C. Newsom (Marge), Marla K. Piece (Tim), Grant E. Newsom, Mark E. Wagganer (Vicki) and Gene A. Wagganer (Jill); his grandchildren, Adam Newsom (Karlene), Ross Newsom (Kayce Jo), Ashlie Wagganer (Paulo), Nichole Wagganer, Matthew Wagganer, Leah Smothers (Cody), Luke Wagganer (Danielle), Lane Wagganer and Isabella Pierce; and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Emerson, Ivy, Noelle, Max, Pepper Jo and Rosemary.
He was an avid golfer and loved going to Gold's Gym at least 3 days a week until Covid.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Jim's memory.
