He was predeceased by: his father Donald Wakefield; his son Jason Wakefield; and his siblings, Charles Wakefield, Ronald Wakefield and Debra Wakefield.
He is survived by: his mother Helen Wakefield (Boatwright) of O'Fallon, Missouri; his wife Gwendolyn Curtis; his daughters, Angela Boerckel (Clint) of St. Clair and Deanna Blanchard (Scott) of Creve Cour, Missouri; his grandchildren, Andrew Bannister (Karizma), Bradley Flynn (Kelli Weiler), Patrick Flynn (Veronica) and Taylor Link (Chad); and his great grandchildren, Colton, Maycee, Luna and Krysta. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
