He was predeceased by: his daughter Belinda Jean Raulston (Dudley); his parents, Anzil Sr. Shepard and Leola Blanche Shepard (Volner); his wife Euretha Shepard; his siblings, Melinda Lenorh Patterson, Geneva Miles, Jessie Melton, Anzil Shepard "Sonny" Jr. and Carrol Gene Shepard; his stepson William Taylor; and his son-in-law William Darnell.
He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Marie Darnell (William); his former wife Joyce Taylor; his stepchildren, Kay Ferranto (Richard) and Greg Taylor; his son-in-law Dudley Raulston; his sister Alverna Stroburg; and his grandchildren, Ariel Vance, Angela Laycock, Michael Thomas and Ashley Thomas. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
During St. Patrick's Day he would grow a beard and dye it green, allowing others to cut it for charitable donations.
