He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Garrett, Sr. and Gertrude Flora Garrett (Davis); his sons, Randall Garrett, Mike Hammond and Charles Hammond, Jr.; his siblings, JoAnn Shaunhorst, Margaruiette Vansell and Bobby Paul Garrett; and his children-in-law, Sue Hammond and Herbert Wasson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Louise Vansell; his children, Carl Hammond of Wheatland, Robert Hammond (Margaret) of Sedalia, Frances Thompson (Donnie) of Sedalia, Brenda Kinyon (John) of Osceola and Angie Turner (Stephen) of Smithville; his siblings, Henry J. Garrett of Kansas City, Billy Garrett of Osceola, Lizabelle Vansell of Sedalia, Emma Rank of Warsaw, Ruby Esser of Sedalia, Hazel Moore of Smithton and Kathryn Dietzman of Sedalia; and his daughters-in-law, Patti Hammond of Sedalia and Glenda Hammond of Cole Camp. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
