He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Henry and Lela Fern Byrd (Buffon); his wife Glenda Susan (Uptegrove); and his siblings, Janet Kortum and Roger Byrd.
He is survived by: his children, David Jr. and Kimberly; his stepchildren, Jason Uptegrove (Sarah Thomas), April Edgar (Charlie Ford) and Stacey Uptegrove; and his sisters, Carolyn Miller, Barbara Pile and Anita Parish. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
