It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Owen Cooney of Sedalia, Missouri, born in Saint Joseph, Missouri, who passed away on November 10, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry James and Marcelline Loretta Grady Cooney; his wife Barbara Lamy; and his sisters, Jeanne, Helen and Betty Ann.
He is survived by: his former wife Anne Hurley; his daughters, Carol Fischer (John) of Gravois Mills and Colleen Geihm (Jeff) of Sugar Grove, IL; his siblings, Teresa Kleber of Kirkwood, Mary Miller of St. Louis, Madeleine Whyte of St. Louis, Martha MacMann of St. Louis, John Cooney of Medford, OR and Michael Cooney of St. Louis; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Rinella (Michael), Katie Clune (Matthew), Liz Schroeder (Greg), Anne Fischer, James Cromley (Caitlin) and Caitlin Farmer (Justin). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, services will be held at a later date.
