He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oliver and Kathryn Idella Hughes (Rodekohr); his spouse Byrdia Lee Murray; his daughter Deborah Atkinson; and his siblings, Maxine Howard, Maggie Mae Thompson, Paul Thompson and Jake Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Hughes of Sedalia and Jimmy Hughes (Sandy) of Searcy, AR; his sisters, Anna Marie Wright of Sedalia and Mary Ann Medlin (Ken) of Latham, MO; and his grandchildren, Paul Neel, LaCrista Barnett, Samantha Gamber, Adam Belt, Heather Belt, Anthony Hughes, Chelsea Mills, Brittany Martin, Paul White and Elizabeth Silverest. He is also survived by twenty-six great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.
