He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Morris and Louise Morris (Eyeipock); and his sister Shirley Morris. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lea (Bailey); his children, Robert D. Morris (Leslie) of Summerville, S. C., Rick Grimes (Terri) of Ottumwa, IA, Randall Thornton (Shelly Walz) of Sedalia and Rhonda Ahern (Nathan) of Sedalia; his daughter-in-law Serenna Thornton; his grandchildren, Christopher Morris, Autumn Morris, Caleb Morris, Joseph Morris, Angie Corzette, Amber Heckart, Mary Lynn Roberts, Abby Gamble, Dr. Angel Hale, Glenn Thornton and Tabitha Townsend; his stepgrandchildren, Mallory Walz, Meghan Ahern and Abbey Ahern; and his siblings, Shawn Morris (Tracy) of Lee's Summit, Jeffrey Morris of Sedalia and Pam Paxton of New Franklin. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
A private, family-only memorial service with strict pandemic precautions will be held at 1:30 p. m. Monday, December 28, 2020, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Ordained Prayer Minister Jim Harmon officiating, who was a friend and neighbor.
