He was predeceased by : his parents, Antonia Mondragon and Grace Mondragon (Montoya); his siblings, Arnold Mondragon and Isabel Reyes; and his son Michael D. Mondragon.

He is survived by : his former life partner Shirley Lopez; his daughter Shelly Puckett (Don); his grandsons, Michael "Chantz" Mondragon, Hunter Puckett and Dane Puckett; and his siblings, Tony Mondragon, John Mondragon (Nellie), Martha Mondragon, Theresa Andress (Warren), Ruby Ponce (Sam) and Bertha Mondragon.

He also enjoyed exercising with his friends in the Wesley Church Arthritis Foundation Exercise Buddies.
