She was predeceased by: her father L. D. Simmons. She is survived by: her daughters, L. D. and Elsie Bernice Simmons (Alexander); her husband Douglas Cameron "Doug" Carpenter of Stet; her mother Elsie Simmons; her daughters, Jennifer Carpenter, Kourtney Carpenter, Whitney Smith (Marshall) and Stephanie Carpenter (Steve Smithson); her grandchildren, Kinze Wright, Cameron Wright, Aubree Wright, Tucker Smith, Dawson Smith and Boone Smith; and her sisters, Joyce Pannell, Carol Oglesby (James), Darlene Rafferty, Sharon Thurman (David) and Diana Hampton (Butch). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Judy Carpenter Memorial Fund for library books at the Braymer and Norborne Schools.
