He was predeceased by : his parents, Chester Mercer and Esther Mercer (Swearingen); and his siblings, William Mercer, Brenda Singer and Arthur Mercer.

He is survived by : his wife Lou (Malta) of Sullivan, MO; his daughter Julie Sanford (Josh) of Sullivan, MO; his grandchildren, Devon Mercer, Kassidy Taylor, Caitlin Enke (Taylor), Preston Taylor and Brennan Taylor; and his brothers, Donald Mercer of Sullivan, MO, Chester Ray Mercer of Cuba, MO, Edward Shelton of Marshfield, MO and John Shelton of Marshfield, MO. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
