Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gary Russell Schmidt of Union, Missouri, born in Sullivan, Missouri, who passed away at the age of 85, on June 20, 2020. He was predeceased by: his parent Russell Schmidt (Ruth Edith); his wife Margie Schmidt; his mother Edith Schmidt; and his sister Patricia Blanton (James). He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Egle of St. Louis, MO and Gale Schmidt (Nancy) of Leasburg, MO; his nieces and nephews, Mary Trulaske, John Blanton, Michael Pauk, Sarah Bryan (Jeremy), Katie Snodgrass (Nathan), Susan Roberts (Kirk Schreffler) and Elizabeth Roberts (Rolf Schottle); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, David Trulaske (Lindsay), Annie Gurganus (Scott), Cody, Dylan Snodgrass, Riley, Tinley Bryan and Nicholas Schottle. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Cedar Crest Manor for their care of Gary, particularly during his final days when Covid-19 prohibited them from being at his side.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Union Food Pantry.
