James L. Mechem Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James L. Mechem of Union, Missouri, born in Carthage, Missouri, who passed away on February 25, 2021 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Mechem (Tilda) and Tilda Mechem; and his niece Mary Mechem Dixon. He is survived by: his wife Betty J. Mechem; his children, Karen McDonald (Matt), Kent Mechem (Carol), Glenn Mechem (Roxanna) and Toby Mechem (Tara); his grandchildren, Ryan (Meggan), Lacey (Andy), Trenton, Sean, Brynn, Natalie and Jameson; his great grandchildren, Kate, Isa, Corinne, Ryker and Lyla; his siblings, May Engemann (Orville), Linda Gabbard (Michael) and Frank Mechem (Alberta); and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Viehland (Don) and Paul Landwehr (Aileen). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church.
