We are sad to announce that on August 2, 2025, at the age of 31, Makeda Yohannes (University City, Missouri) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Makeda find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She is survived by: her parents, Jill Powell and Yitbarek Yohannes; her significant other Leilani; her stepfather Mike; her grandmother Bonnie; and her fiancé Kai.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (4967 Forest Park Blvd. 76110).
