She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene W. Borgman and Louise Borgman (Starke); her husband Loren W. Akers; and her sister Esther Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Lorée Proops (Russell) and Renée Akers; her grandchildren, Olivia and Nathan Proops; and her brother Earl Borgman (Mary). She is also survived by several cousins; four nieces and two nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews; and four great-great nieces and nephews.
