He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Gastler and Martha Gastler (Kleinsorge); his wife Marjorie E. Stuart; his siblings, Melvin, Charlie Gastler, Leona Drier, Eunice Eck, Ada Wylie and Norma Weisenborn; and his son-in-law John McAllister.
He is survived by: his children, Ted Gastler (Sherry) of Montgomery City and Laurie McAllister of Columbia; his grandchildren, Ryan McAllister (Erica) of Hallsville, Katelyn Swafford (Jake) of Columbia, Sierra Gastler of Columbia, Kelli McAllister of Columbia and Hailey Gastler of Springfield; and his great grandchildren, Shelbee Gifford, Teddy Jeffries, Connor, Mason McAllister, Petal Vanderpool and Jackson Swafford.
