He was predeceased by: his grandson William Owen Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Angie Thornton; his son Jimmy "J. T."; his grandchildren, Kaylee Addison Thornton, Lillian Grace Thornton and Charlotte Norma Thornton; and his siblings, Betty Delores McDonald, Melissa Phillips (Tim) and Gary Philyaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
