With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alton James (Booneville, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 7, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy I. Tedford James; his wife Sharon James; his brother Gary James; his sons, Chris James and Brad James; and his half-brothers, Terry McVey and Perry McVey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kandie Nunley (Dolen) and Shannon Johnson (Rusty); his grandchildren, Callie Brooke Robertson, Dalton Nunley (Hannah), Alton Desmond James (Serra), Madison Brooks (Logan), Skyler Johnson and Cheyanna Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Hayden, Adalynn, Torren, Dellah, Delta, Amora, Dezzi Leigh, Remi Rae and Alton Dash.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home (506 N 3rd St, Booneville, MS 38829). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at the Jumpertown Cemetery.
