He was predeceased by: his brothers, James and Roland. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jean Ferguson; his children, Debbie Brown, Kristy Riley, Ben Ferguson (Eddie) and Stacy Ferguson; and his siblings, Maurice, John, Pat, Michael and Molly Ferguson. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
