He was predeceased by: his wife Claudia Mae McIntosh Arender; his parents, Robert Sampson Arender and Ora Mae Hughes Arender; and his brother Cleon Arender. He is survived by: his children, Kay Smith (Mike), Jeff Arender (Kerry) and Amy Hogue (Justin); his grandchildren, Claire Papizan (Chris), Shayna Smith, Chelsey Smith, Kimberly Smith, Tanner Smith, John Austin Arender (Julie), Jane Claire Arender, Logan Hogue, Kylie Hogue, Macy Kate Hogue, Jackson Papizan and Palmer Papizan; his sisters, Audrey Rhinewalt and Mary Lou Adair (John); and his sisters-in-law, Christine Royals, Doris Warren (Charlie), Patricia Sampley and Glenda Dennis.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossgates United Methodist Church mission fund or Polkville First Baptist Church.
