It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mavis Sanders Gilbert (Brandon, Mississippi), who passed away on September 19, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas Sanders and Jimmie Lee Townsend Sanders; her husband Shelly L. Gilbert; her son Johnny Earl Gilbert; and her children-in-law, Brenda Kay Gilbert and Robert E. Henderson.

She is survived by: her daughter Margaret Gilbert Henderson. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 800 Raymond Road, Jackson, MS 39204.
