It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Estes Matthews of Brandon, Mississippi, who passed away on March 31, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Olif Thompson Sr. and Willie E. Matthews; his wife Kathleen Salers Matthews; his daughters, Kelly Cappleman (Scott) of Starkville, MS and Karen Cummings (Bill) of Birmingham, AL.; his grandchildren, Carly Beth, Eli, Clancy Cappleman, Jakob, Mason, Will and Levi Cummings; and his siblings, Irma Ruth Smith, Olif Matthews Jr. (Betty), Betty Glass, Nancy Green, Sandra Buffington, Pat Matthews (Peggy), Paul, Alton Matthews and Gail Dear. He was also cherished by his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
