He is survived by: his wife Shirley Mullen Bennett of McCarley; his children, John Bennett, Jr. of Selma, AL and Jackie Newell (Sam) of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Lindsay Banuelos (Fredy) of San Antonio, TX, Sam Newell, III and Jack Newell of Tupelo; his great grandchild Eli Banuelos of San Antonio, TX; and his brother Roger Bennett of Conroe, TX. He is also survived by 3 sister-in-laws; 1 brother-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.
