He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Elizabeth McCrary Proffitt, Sr.; and his wife Elizabeth Banks Proffitt. He is survived by: his children, Campbell Proffitt (Teresa) of Columbus, MS and Lee Allison Proffitt of Springhill, TN; his grandchildren, Kathyrn Sinclaire Snyder, Campbell McKellar Proffitt, Margaret Banks "Maggie" Proffitt and James Reuben Proffitt; and his stepgrandchildren, Brittany Lynn Deschaine and Preston Paul Long.
